Runaway car causes serious injuries

The accident is under police investigation

A MOTHER and her year-old baby were among those critically injured when a runaway car ploughed into them on the R618 in Hlabisa.

 
According to KZN Emergency Medical Services (EMS) spokesperson Robert McKenzie, the woman and her baby, as well as two other women and a four-year-old child, had been walking near the road when the vehicle struck them after veering off the road.

 
The woman and her baby strapped to her back, were critically injured, as were the other two women.

 
All four were treated on scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital.

 
The four-year-old child sustained serious injuries, while the occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

 
Hlabisa SAPS are investigating the cause of the accident.
