Rotary Empangeni welcomes new president
The Rotary Club of Empangeni saluted their new president for 2016/2017 Glynn Harborth
EMPANGENI Rotarians and esteemed guests on Tuesday evening gathered at the Empangeni Country Club for the induction of the Rotary Club of Empangeni’s President, Glynn Harborth.
Glynn, who is serving his second term as president, is taking the reins from Verna Govender who will continue her work for Rotary as a member of the board.
The evening’s procession was made particularly special as a number of members received Paul Harris Fellow awards.
This included Shelley Bain, Jean Harborth and the late Willie Holder, whose award was accepted by his wife Maryna Holder and daughter Henelle.
Fulvio Pace walked away with a Sapphire Paul Harris Fellow award for his exceptional work and ongoing contributions, including the donation of more than 6 000 bicycles to rural communities.
To conclude the evening, the theme for 2016/2017 was set as ‘Rotary serving humanity’, and each member is ready to fulfill their duties in honour of this.
