Clients call Telkom to account

Residents have demanded answers as to why statements have not been delivered to their homes in three months.

SEVERAL Zululanders have made a clarion call to Telkom for answers as to why statements have not been delivered to their homes in three months.

Telkom Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre Manager Nothula Mtshali says it is the result of protest action by the South African Post Office.

‘This is a post office issue, not a Telkom one.

‘We have received many complaints from customers, but all we can do at this point is print out statements at our stores.’

On Thursday 228 workers were dismissed by the post office after last month’s illegal strike.Permanent staff demanded a salary increase of 6.5% for the 2014/2015 financial year.

The post office have reportedly lost R3-billion in the last two years as a result of recurring strikes nationwide.
Sapo spokespersons could not be reached for comment.
