Ntuli warns against lazy councillors

Ntuli, who is also the Mayor of Nkandla Municipality warned against laziness, saying this will not be tolerated.

THE Chairperson of the IFP in uThungulu District Thami Ntuli has issued a stern warning to IFP candidates, to represent the party well in the various municipalities.

When introducing the 105 party candidates at Empangeni Civic Centre, Ntuli, who is also the Mayor of Nkandla Municipality warned against laziness, saying this will not be tolerated.

‘We are not sending you to municipalities to become spectators, we want you to deliver and be in touch with the communities. Delivery of basic services to the people must be your national anthem, and anyone who will not sing that anthem must think twice.

‘There is no excuse for laziness when you are led by the evergreen, tried and tested servant of the people like umNtwana waKwaPhindangene, iNkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi. With Shenge as our leader, we don’t need any motivation for us to work for the people, because this is what Shenge has been doing for more than 40 years.’

Ntuli said even though his party did not have sufficient resources like other political parties, their political credentials and track records will do the work for them.

‘We are going into this election knowing full well that South Africa needs a new hope, and we are that hope. We want to make people’s lives better.’

The meeting was also addressed by the party’s National Chairperson Blessed Gwala, who said the political soil was fertile for anyone to win elections.
