This organisation helps youngsters obtain information on career guidance

UNIVERSITY of Zululand (Unizulu) students want to make a difference in the lives of high school pupils around Zululand.

On Saturday the group will host an ‘edutainment’ event at the university’s Bhekuzulu Hall to raise funds for their non-profit organisation, Yethu Scholars.

This organisation helps youngsters obtain information on career guidance which helps them make wise career choices.

They also help high school pupils with tutoring and work with various schools to create awareness about teenage pregnancy and substance abuse.

‘In high school most youngsters don’t really get appropriate information or assistance to choose what to study.

‘We help them with this and also help them fill in forms such as bursary applications,’ said Yethu Scholars’ head of fund-raising, Nokukhanya Mnguni.

The edutertainment programme will feature various artists such as comedian Simphiwe Shembe, Amawele aseChesterville and Khuzani.

Community members can help make a difference by purchasing fund-raising tickets for only R30.
