The Stallions started slowly but steadily gained in confidence after falling behind as early as the 14th minute when they failed to defend a cross (0-1).

They twice had the ball in the net in the first half but were denied by the referee’s whistle, and things were looking grim when Cheswyn Philander smashed a penalty against the crossbar.

But they came out of the blocks with purpose after the break, forcing four consecutive corners until Menzi Chili smashed a left-footed drive into the far corner to make it 1-1 and secure the single point they needed to gain promotion.

Milford will make it five KZN teams in the PSL in the new season, joining Richards Bay, AmaZulu, Golden Arrows and Durban City.
