THE Brackenham Community Policing Forum (CPF) invites the community to a public meeting tonight (Thursday) at the Brackenham Community Hall at 6pm to address problems of drugs abuse and crime in the suburb.
The sub-forum’s Chairperson Rheka Kanaye has urged the public to partner with the CPF and SAPS to address the social ills.
At the meeting, a women’s and youth forum will be established to address concerns raised by the community.
‘We have secured treatment services for all those suffering from drug addiction and request they come forward for help.
‘Our women play a pivotal role as mothers and the women’s forum will focus on education and awareness of how to successfully intervene in treating the problems of drugs and crime,’ Kanaye said.
‘Presently there is little support for youth to be actively involved in addressing problems relating to the youth or to achieve and develop problem solving skills and leadership qualities.
‘We appeal to volunteers who can render assistance with their time, skills or other resources to attend.’
