TWO adults and three children were earlier today (Saturday) involved in a serious accident, which appears to have been a head-on-collision between a car and a truck.

The accident occurred late this morning on Bullion Boulevard and brought traffic to a standstill as emergency services used the jaws of life to extricate an entrapped passenger from the vehicle.

All injured passengers were taken to hospital.

Details are sketchy at this stage but the accident is the subject of a police investigation.

Both Richards Bay Traffic and SAPS officers, as well as uMhlathuze Fire and Rescue, and all other emergency services were on scene.

The debris is still in the process of being cleared.
