Talented young Richards Bay rugby player needs help to go on European tour

Help Sobethu get to Europe for a tour for which he was recently selected

CHOSEN for a rugby tour to France and Germany, local young player Sobethu Biyela needs help with funding to travel to Europe at the end of September.

The 13-year-old Grade 7 learner at Arboretum Primary School was selected for the tour after attending the Riebeek Vallei rugby tournament in Cape Town during the April holidays.

Sobethu needs R35 000 to cover his travelling costs.

‘As my father is unemployed and mom the sole breadwinner, finances are tight, so we are trying to raise money for this once in a lifetime opportunity,’ he said.

He says his dream is to one day become a professional rugby player.

His mother Nozipho said this is a great opportunity for her son and it would mean a lot for him to be able to make it to France.
