Working together to serve community

Their aim is to offer a safe house for children and support families in various ways through funding, donations and learn-to-earn projects

LOCAL welfare organisation, Richards Bay Family Care (RBFC) has a new chairperson at the helm – Empangeni accountancy business owner Riener Botha.

Botha joined the organisation in March and brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the organisation, which offers comprehensive and inclusive services to families with children under the age of 12 and promotes the safety and development of children.

At their monthly meeting, RBFC committee members invited representatives of Walk in Faith, a non profit organisation, which aims to care for vulnerable children and families, to share information on their venture and to identify ways in which both organisations can work together to render services to the community.

Currently, Walk in Faith is involved in feeding and clothing those in need, providing life skills training, advocating the protection and rights of women, children and the elderly, parental guidance, family counselling and social welfare and community projects.

Their aim is to offer a safe house for children and support families in various ways through funding, donations and learn-to-earn projects.

RBFC Social Work Supervisor, Ayanda Dumisa welcomed the new board members, Chairperson Renier Botha and Pastor Ivan Naidoo who will be assisting with marketing and public relations.

‘We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to the previous chairperson, Paul Venter for his contributions to the organisation and being instrumental in the centre’s extension.

‘As a welfare organisation, we are reliant on sponsorships and donations and we look forward to working with other organisations,’ he said.
