KZN Premier Thami Ntuli leads prayer in Nongoma

Call for unity, tolerance and respect for human life as South Africa prepares for Local Government Elections

Political killings and peaceful municipal elections are central to the agenda of a prayer session led by KZN Premier Thami Ntuli in Nongoma this (Monday) morning.

Taking place at the Nongoma Multi-purpose Centre, the prayer session aims to call for unity, tolerance and respect for human life as South Africa prepares for the 4 November elections.

Ntuli said the prayer will serve as a solemn appeal for peace amid concerns about political violence and the loss of lives, reaffirming the urgent need for all political parties, their supporters and communities to reject violence, intimidation and political intolerance.

“Through this initiative, l call on religious leaders, political formations and communities to unite in prayer and action, seeking divine intervention while strengthening a collective commitment to peace, stability and the protection of human life,” said Ntuli.

The prayer will also provide an opportunity to remember the victims of political killings and stand in solidarity with their families, whose lives have been forever affected by senseless violence.
