Unizulu murder accused back in court

Family still await DNA and post mortem reports

THE family of slain Unizulu student, Sikhulile Khuzwayo (22), will have to wait for police to conduct further investigations before murder accused Phaizel Mncube (37) can stand trial.

Mncube appeared in the Ngwelezana District on Monday and his case was postponed to 25 April for further investigations.

He is being charged with murder after he confessed to police to having strangled, chopped up and burnt the remains of the young student on 21 January.

He has since refused to submit a bail application and will remain in custody until his next appearance.
