Covid case closes Mandeni licensing section
With the Department of Health, the municipality will conduct a tracing exercise to identify people who have been in contact with the employee
THE Mandeni Municipality has taken the decision to close its public safety and licensing section.
In a statement issued today (Wednesday), this decision was taken after one of the employees tested positive for Covid-19.

Municipal spokesperson, Mdu Manzi, said all the offices will first have to be sanitised before services can resume.
‘The employee is currently in self-isolation at his home. We have advised the other employees to self-quarantine while test results are awaited.
Manzi said the municipality, with the assistance of the Department of Health, will conduct a tracing exercise to identify people who have been in contact with the employee.
‘We appeal to the community to bear with us as some of the municipal services will be affected as a result of this,’ Manzi said.
Sanitising of the offices and the area in which the Offices for Public Safety and Licensing are situated, is being carried out with immediate effect.
