Recreational fishing allowed with appropriate permits

The City is briefing the law enforcement personnel on the new gazetted regulations, restrictions and all its requirements including applicable permits to access the fishing points as well as the general access to beach areas.

THE Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment has gazetted regulations applicable to recreational fishing during level three of the national lockdown.
Published on 5 June, the gazette, which has been noted by the City of uMhlathuze, allows for recreational fishing with appropriate permits.
The City is briefing the law enforcement personnel on the new gazetted regulations, restrictions and all its requirements including applicable permits to access the fishing points as well as the general access to the beach areas.
The City is also working on the new applicable signage in line with the level three regulations.
A public notice with all necessary regulations will be published by next week.
