Top five games from 2010 to try during lockdown

DESPITE the easing of national lockdown restrictions, keeping busy over weekends becomes challenging while social gatherings are still prohibited.

Here is a list for gamers to work through to kill some time.

Since many cannot afford the latest gaming consoles on launch, I chose five older games from the 2010 era that one can play.

Grand Theft Auto V
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is an old rock star game that sold a mind-boggling 110 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling games ever.
Over the years GTA has formed a loyal fan base, but attracted a number of new users as well, but GTA 5 is something else.
This game allows you to switch between there main protagonists, all with their own quirky personalities.
All three characters come together for a series of heists that entail a ton of chaos and fun.

The Last of Us
This game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where humanity has sunk into a horror-show.
Zombies are running amok, while the surviving humans are engaged in brutal self-preservation that entails murdering fellow non-mutants too.
The prime character, Joel, is tasked with a mission to safely smuggle Ellie, a teenager, across the country.
The challenge comes in when having to navigate through some chilling terrain.
Sadly, The Last of Us is a PlayStation exclusive, so not everyone will be able to give it a go.
But if you have the console and have never played the title, this is as good a time as any.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This game allows the player all the freedom in the world. You can develop your character as you deem fit.
You have a vast weapon choice and you can choose your character’s abilities and spells from a plethora of choices.
Playing a Dragonborn allows for dragon-like abilities, that teach you dragons’ best-kept secrets which you can use to make yourself more powerful.
The number of unimaginable quests, treasure hunts and areas to explore will keep you gaming for hours on end.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Legend of Zelda commands a very passionate fan following who swear by the game.
However, when Nintendo released Breath of the Wild, the game’s appeal made a turn for the better.
Breath of the Wild allows players to explore the vast beauty of Hyrule on their own term.
The realistic elements, such as climbing and mounting any surfaces and rain making them slippery, make it very challenging to play.

Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
Starting off with a bang with Witcher 1, the developers only improved with each episode.
Witcher 3 became the piece de resistance.
An immersive storyline, coupled with a fantastic and huge number of side quests, makes the game an utter joy to play.
The visuals in the game are an absolute treat.
On a quest to track down Cirilla, Geralt of Rivia passes through various different kingdoms as war wages in the background.
The search for Ciri truly takes a grip on you and you find yourself desperate to find her, but also distracted by the wonderfully designed side quests.
There is a good chance you will rush through the game once you start, as it’s adictive.
