Empangeni High School undergoes sanitisation after possible Covid-19 case
The school is being deep cleaned and sanitised, and will reopen on Monday

EMPANGENI High School (EHS) staff were sent a letter from principal Sizwe Zwane, stating that the local government school will be closed today (Friday), owing to a possible Covid-19 case.
A school spokesperson told the ZO that the school is currently undergoing a deep cleanse and sanitisation, in line with the Department of Education rules and requirements.

The school will re-open on Monday morning.
The individual involved was sent home for self-isolation, and the test result is still pending.
‘We were looking at bringing back grades 8 to 10 on Monday, but, owing to the latest news, only Grade 11 will come back in two batches,’ explained the spokesperson.
‘Batch one will attend school on Monday, and batch two on Tuesday, to promote social distancing in line with government regulations.
‘We will phase our grades back in accordance with the Department of Education, which will be done later this month.’
