Mtunzini man stabs wife

An initial message in a group chat reported a robbery and knife attack, which turned out to be misleading

MTUNZINI residents last (Friday) night mobilised to quickly block off exit routes out of town after a stabbing which they believed took place during a house robbery, but turned out to be a domestic violence incident.

A paramedic stationed in town, Alpha Security and police responded swiftly to a report of a man who had stabbed his 38-year-old wife.

A source at the scene said they believed the man was under the influence of alcohol.

‘The woman was treated on scene and the man was arrested for attempted murder.’
