THE animal-loving Richards Bay community was quick to rally in support of Sky, a beloved family pet who was stabbed nine times during a home invasion in Arboretum on Monday night.

Having protected her family from the knife-wielding intruders, Sky sustained serious injuries, and while she is in a stable condition at a Meerensee vet, she needs extensive care to pull through.

On top of the trauma of the home invasion, during which two members of the family were also stabbed, Sky’s distraught family is pleading for public assistance with the vet bill.

While the Richards Bay SPCA has agreed to pay for Sky’s treatment, it cannot fund the entire veterinary bill, so donations are vital.
