Covid-19: Positive case closes Ngwelezana court
The court is only attending to first court appearances and bail hearings
THE Ngwelezana court is operating with a minimum staff complement after a positive case of Covid-19 was detected.
The court was temporarily closed on Monday when a coronavirus test result indicated that one staff member had tested positive.

Ministry of Justice and Correctional Service spokesperson, Chrispin Phiri, said the court is only attending to first court appearances and bail hearings.
‘Cases on the roll will be brought forward and postponed to a future date. All the accused will be advised of this,’ he said.
Provincial executive member of the Public Servant Association (PSA), Bheki Dlamini, urged those who might need court assistance to use their nearest courts.
‘The management is busy making arrangements to fumigate the buildings as per protocol.
‘At this stage it is not clear when the court will be reopened, but our duty as a union is to ensure that the place is safe before our members return to work,’ he said.
