All five also boasted a well-managed, well-organised waste system.
In addition to that, their transportation infrastructure has a limited impact on polluting their air quality and cleanliness.
These are the top five cleanest cities in the world:

1. Calgary, Canada – Has a population of more than a million people and is currently the world’s cleanest city.
The government battles to maintain the cleanliness, but achieve it by focusing on five main things, namely – water cleanliness and availability, sewage systems, traffic congestion, waste removal and recycling and air pollution.

2. Zurich, Switzerland – Attracts thousands of tourists every year, with its beautiful winter snow.
The city has an effective waste management system and their recycling is also focused on how to reuse products in energy consumption efficiently.

3. Luxembourg – Is a small country that puts special emphasis on keeping its city and capital clean.
The capital is picturesque and residents seem to understand their duty is to keep their city and country as clean as possible for all to enjoy.

4. Adelaide, South Australia – Rrecycles approximately 85% of waste generated by the city with its waste management system.
That is why it is ranked so highly on cleanliness.

5. Singapore – Is Asia’s cleanest city, owing to the guidelines they follow.
Spitting in public places would be considered an offence and you could be charged for it by the government.
