The character has been developed by journalist, playwright and producer, Wellington Makwakwa.
‘After showcasing Gogo’s Boy, I realised the audience loved the role of my grandmother, and decided to give it its own platform, and that is how the show began.
‘The character is a combination of my grandmother and great aunts. I grew up around them and they fascinated me. The way they loved each other, but constantly fought and made up was something magical to witness,’ says Wellington.
