THE Covid-19 pandemic has changed the very face of society, including the way in which business is conducted – with cost-cutting a top priority.

‘We’ve learnt some valuable lessons and discovered we can in fact do without many of the elements we once deemed as absolute essentials.
‘In this electronic age, working from home especially taught us that the workplace and workstyle can be simplified far more than we had realised.
‘Newspapers have always reacted to changing scenarios and we are now in the fortunate era when we can be more flexible, responsive and mobile using the technologies at our disposal.
‘For that reason we have come to the decision of closing our remote office at Richards Bay –without affecting either our editorial coverage or client advertising services.
‘The number of reporters and sales representatives remains unchanged and they will be ready to respond to phone calls.
‘There’s simply no need for large office space when the laptop and WiFi are mobile and travel with the reporter or rep.’
