WATCH: Burst water pipe in Ysterhout Road being replaced

It is not known at this stage when water and power supply will be restored to the affected areas.

ARBORETUM and Arboretum extension residents in Richards Bay are unlikely to have their water supply reconnected until well into the evening (Tuesday) as City of uMhlathuze crews continue to work flat out to replace the water mains on Ysterhout Road.

Water supply was shut from 6am this morning as repair work on the pipe and road construction commenced. The municipality earlier notified residents that an electrical cable had also been damaged at the site where the water pipe was being fixed. It is not known at this stage when water and power supply will be restored to the affected areas.

The main water pipe burst at the corner of North Central Arterial and Ysterhout earlier this month, causing the road to collapse at the stop street.
