WHILE South Africa’s total number of Covid-19 cases breached the half-million mark this week, recoveries are increasing every day.
In the 24 hours since yesterday (Thursday) morning, recoveries increased by more than 10 000, to a total of 387 316.
Active cases are on a steady decline, and, as of this morning, the total number was sitting at 141 264.
The total death rate is 9 604, an increase of 306 since Thursday.
More than three million tests have been conducted nationwide.
While these numbers are reason to be optimistic, all social distancing, sanitising and mask wearing must continue, in accordance with government regulations.
