Mtubatuba-based sugar mill offers sweet relief in dire times
The sugar shop initiative affords members of local communities the opportunity to buy sugar directly from the mill
IN keeping with its Covid-19 community relief programme, Umfolozi Sugar Mill (USM) recently launched its sugar shop project.
This initiative will afford members of local communities the opportunity of buying sugar directly from the mill, providing an economic stimulus during these dire economic times.

Vulnerable rural communities are among the worst affected by Covid-19 and associated lockdown measures, with little opportunity to make ends meet.
For this reason, USM stepped up its corporate social initiative (CSI) to assist the communities in the mill’s area of operation.
USM urges other businesses and industries to do the same, playing their part in being socially responsible partners in the battle against the pandemic.
The USM sugar shop is running an opening special until the end of August, after which it will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays, between 10am and 2pm.
