Meerensee CPF, SAPS and various security companies carried out a joint patrol

ENSURING the safety of the local community, a joint operation was carried out between the Meerensee CPF, SAPS and various security companies in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The team of 40 members performed foot and vehicular patrols, sweeping through green belts, and searching the many vacant properties in the suburb.

The stop-and-search operation at four roadblocks resulted in the apprehension of one suspect by SAPS, with many vehicles and pedestrians checked.

‘Success is inevitable when you apply constant, dedicated pressure and effort,’ said Meerensee CPF chairperson, Henk van Niekerk.

‘Each time there’s an improvement on previous operations, and we’ve noted increased involvement by community members.’
