Melmoth family robbed at gunpoint
A bakkie, five goats and some valuables were stolen in the robbery
MELMOTH police are investigating a case of house robbery after a group of armed suspects invaded a house and robbed the residents of their valuables.
King Cetshwayo cluster police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said a 63-year-old woman in the Bhonkolo Reserve in Mthonjaneni was asleep when two armed suspects forced open the door.

Holding up the victims at gunpoint, they demanded cash, cellphones, firearms and car keys.
Mdlalose added that the suspects took a red Isuzu bakkie, and loaded five goats onto it and sped off.
‘The bakkie was later found abandoned with only one wheel at eMasangweni Reserve. The five goats were found grazing near the bakkie. No shots were fired during the robbery and no one was injured,’ said Mdlalose.
