THOUSANDS around the world hit the streets today (Saturday), including Zululand’s neighbours to the south in Ballito, in the @MoveONEMillion peaceful protest which seeks to unite all South Africans against the scourge of corruption.

The South African flag was raised across the country and across the globe, including in London, Cyprus, Italy, Cayman Islands, Scotland, Portugal, Namibia, the USA and others, and was broadcast across all social media platforms.

Move ONE Million was founded in July and has since made use of a variety of social media platforms to raise awareness and create movement.

The movement quickly gained traction and demands that the South African government addresses issues like corruption and gender-based violence.

‘South Africans have proven to be an incredibly patient and trusting nation, but the time has come for us to unite in our diversity, bring together the 11 languages and remind our leaders that the power does not reside in the hands of a few, but in the people of South Africa who are broken, betrayed and tired of waiting for the promises made,’ said the movement’s organisers on their Back a Buddy page.
