Seedlings and tree donations to Mandlazini community
This year's programme highlighted biodiversity in line with the national theme
IN celebration of Arbor Day last week, Mondi and the Department of Tourism, Economic Development and Environmental Affairs donated trees and seedlings to community members in Mandlazini.
The paper giant, which also partnered with uMhlathuze Municipality, handed over ploughing tools, including watering cans to 15 beneficiaries.

‘This year’s programme highlighted biodiversity in line with the national theme, to signify the importance of protecting and conserving our biodiversity as the backbone of our economy and livelihoods.
‘The beneficiaries in Mandlazini received indigenous trees as well as seedlings for spinach, cabbages and tomatoes,’ said Mondi Public Affairs and Stakeholder Manager, Hlengiwe Mvubu.
She said the seedling donation will allow families to grow their own vegetable gardens to ensure sustainable food supply.
