Mother-of-two receives new home
Kwadlangezwa mother was overwhelmed when receiving keys to her new fully-furnished home
A KWADLANGEZWA mother-of-two was overwhelmed when, last Thursday, she was handed over the keys to her fully-furnished, two-bedroom home donated by the Mduduzi Gift Mhlongo (MFM) Foundation.
The handover was attended by Ward 34 councillor, Ntuthuko Makhanya, the founder of MGM Foundation, Mduduzi Mhlongo, and other representatives.

The recipient, Zama Mkhwanazi (37), explained she had been living with her two children in a dilapidated mud shack, surviving on child support grants to make ends meet.
‘I am very grateful to have such a house,’ she said, adding that the home would instill a sense of pride in her family.
‘I lost my parents at a young age and my life has been tough. I have suffered a lot.’
Councillor Makhanya explained that Mkhwanazi was identified as a vulnerable community member through the Operation Sukuma Sakhe project.
She praised the Foundation for its ongoing community assistance.
‘Last year the Foundation assisted several people living in my ward, especially elderly women,’ said Makhanya.
‘We still have needy people in this area, and we believe that working with NGOs like the MGM Foundation will speed up service delivery.’
NPO founder, Mduduzi Mhlongo, said: ‘We don’t have a budget, but we work with local people and businesses to help the needy,’ he explained.
‘It is not safe for a woman to live in a dilapidated house because that makes her an easy target for criminals. We believe everyone needs to protect those who are vulnerable in our society.’
