Clean-up warriors do their bit in Richards Bay
The event was held on Coastal Clean-up Day
UMHLATHUZE Municipality Speaker Slondile Mkhize encouraged community members at Saturday’s coastal clean-up campaign in Richards Bay to explore different types of recycling to overcome conservation challenges.
She was speaking at the beach clean-up event hosted by the City of uMhlathuze at Alkantstrand in collaboration with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, the KZN Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA KZN) and Coca-Cola Beverages SA.

She said the city’s youth are committed to recycling and some have created work opportunities and income for themselves.
As recreational facilities have now reopened across the city, residents are urged to keep the environment clean and dispose of their waste correctly.
