Detectives, following up on information, apprehended a 34-year-old man found in possession of stolen property.

The arrest of a burglary suspect in Mzingazi by Richards Bay police last week has been connected to several other cases.

Detectives, following up on information, apprehended a 34-year-old man found in possession of stolen property. This included various television sets, laptops, cellphones, electronics and an unlicensed firearm.

The arrest comes at a time when residential burglaries in Richards Bay have been alarmingly high.

Following the Mzingazi arrest, further information was received and the King Cetshwayo Task Team began their investigations and later made arrests in Mandlazini, where five suspects were apprehended – three for being in possession of suspected stolen property, one for house breaking and another for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
