Ulundi mayor concerned about lack of Covid protocols
People must be responsible and adhere to the lockdown rules and regulations
ULUNDI Mayor, Wilson Ntshangase, has raised concerns about people’s defiance of Covid-19 safety protocols.
Ntshangase said he notices many people failing to adhere to the protocols, for example moving in public without wearing masks.

‘I am very concerned about what is happening. Will people be happy if we return to lockdown Level 5? Failing to follow the protocols and the increase of Covid-19 infections will force the government to revert to hard lockdown measures.
‘People should stop illegal gatherings, maintain social distancing and continue to wear masks,’ Ntshangase said.
This was echoed by Ulundi Municipal Manager, Nksosenye Zulu, who said that a fresh outbreak in the area is a distinct possibility.
Zulu explained that lockdown restrictions were reduced with the aim of reviving the economy.
‘Many jobs were lost because of this pandemic. People must be responsible and adhere to the lockdown rules and regulations. They must learn to stay at home, sanitise and wear their masks,’ Zulu said.
