Vryheid police search for missing boy

THE Vryheid Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit appeals to members of the community to assist them in locating a missing child, Nhlonipho Melusi Nkosi (8).

Nkosi, of the Bivane area in Dumbe, was last seen on Thursday, 12 November playing in a rondavel at home.

Captain Nqobile Gwala said police and community searches have been fruitless.

‘Strangely, his underwear was found near the Bivane River, not far from his home, but he could not be located.

‘Police and a search and rescue team, with the K9 Unit, were alerted and a search was conducted but nothing has been found.

A missing person inquiry was opened at the Paulpietersburg police station.

‘We appeal to anyone who might have information about his whereabouts to contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Bandile Zwane, on 071 7012923 or 034 9894200, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,’ Gwala said.
