Empangeni water outage caused by suspected leak

The problem has been found and water should be restored by Wednesday afternoon

PARTS of Empangeni have been left without water for the past two days because of a suspected water leak in the area.

Ward 23 councillor Andre de Lange told the ZO that Mill Village, Higgs Road and Moberly Road have been most affected.

‘Nyala Park and Parts if Noordsig have been without water. Plumbers have been driving around trying to establish where the leak might be.

‘They now suspect that the leak could be in the FiveWays premises.

‘The problem appears to be that too much water is going into the FiveWays line and not enough is going to the other pipelines.

‘If this is the case, the plumbers can close the valve at FiveWays, which will fix the problem in other areas while they sort out the leak at the FiveWays premises.’

De Lange said that water should be restored by this (Wednesday) afternoon.
