uMhlathuze Municipality shared a notice informing residents that water supply is restricted in eSikhaleni, Empangeni and Ngwelezana

TAPS in Empangeni and surrounds have once again been left dry leaving many areas with low water pressure or no water.
Ward 23 councilor Andre de Lange said that uMhlathuze Water, who is responsible for water supply, has been experiencing a problem with their equipment since yesterday (Friday).
‘Because of this, they have been unable to pump water into our reservoirs and this might have an effect on the whole town. We are waiting on them to let us know when the problem will be fixed.’

03h00 – 10h00 (30%)
10h00 – 16h00 (10%)
16h00 – 20h00 (50%)
City Communications Manager Mdu Ncalane said high areas will experience low pressure or no water.
‘This is due to shortage of raw water supply from different sources including uMhlathuze River, Nsezi and Groedethrow dam.
‘We are expecting to ease restrictions latest on Monday.
’Water tankers have been dispatched to all affected areas.‘
