Opportunity for South African students to study in the USA

The undergraduate programme is open to current matriculants and gap year students only, and applications close on 14 March

SOUTH African students who want to study in the United States of America are being afforded an opportunity to secure funding through the EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Program (OFP).

The programme assists talented students with scholarships, and admission to colleges and universities in the US.

‘Students with a strong academic record, robust participation in extracurricular activities, involvement in leadership roles, and an excellent community service record, are encouraged to apply to the programme.

‘OFP finances the cost of the application process, including registration fees for the required standardised examinations.

‘This free of charge EducationUSA Programme includes seminars and meetings that prepare South African citizens or permanent residents to apply for and pursue undergraduate or graduate studies in America,’ the US Embassy in South Africa said in a statement.

The undergraduate programme is open to current matriculants and gap year students only, and applications close on 14 March.

Students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the United States will have to complete the graduate application form.

Successful applicants will work with a team of EducationUSA advisers from April this year to August 2022 to try and secure places and financial assistance to begin study in the US in August 2022.
