WATCH: eSikhaleni water protest shuts down suburb
Arrested protestors to appear in court today
WASTE skips were overturned and trees cut to block roads in eSikhaleni when protesters extended their protest over lack of water supply into the township last night.
Motorists were not allowed to enter or exit the township.

At the moment, apart from the mall entrance, all other exits and entries to eSikhaleni suburb are closed.
The Madlankala road which joins the John Ross Highway Is barricaded.
The violent protest started in eMadlankala area yesterday morning when residents who have been without water for over a week took their grievances with the City of uMhlathuze to the street.
Roads were blocked and police cars stoned which resulted to five residents being arrested and charged with public violent.
The arrest fuelled up other protesters, and that’s when they extended the protest into the township, which is now currently without water.
A huge police present is still in the area to monitor the situation while the five arrested protesters will appear in eSikhawini Magistrates Court today.
