Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said victims are from various provinces

Police have warned the construction sector about an ongoing job scam in eManguzi, uMkhanyakude district, whereby people are lured to a meeting only to have their cars and valuable belongings stolen.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said victims are from various provinces including Mpumalanga, the Free State, Gauteng, and the Eastern Cape.

‘Suspects contact victims over the phone, and once the deal is concluded, they set up a meeting place,’ explained Mbhele.

‘When the victim arrives, they are robbed of their belongings, and the vehicle is taken to neighbouring countries.’ HAVE YOUR SAY
