Clean-up campaign adopts eSikhaleni

The team removed all the debris, cleaned up the bushy pedestrian walkway and cleaned up all illegal dumping sites

Esikhaleni youth continue their mission to clean up the city. After a violent protest which recently ravaged the suburb, the Adopt a Spot campaign reached eSikhaleni on Saturday, to clean up the debris left behind by angry protesters.

Vibe Online joined forces with Umvuzomuhle Foundation and conducted a major clean-up in Kwathango area in J1 section.

The team removed all the debris, cleaned up the bushy pedestrian walkway and cleaned up all illegal dumping sites.

They also educated residents about the importance of loving the environment.

‘The area is close to a school and sporting facilities, as well as being used for illegal dumping.

‘We identified the spot to make sure it’s safe, and maybe try and revive the old community park.

‘Umvuzomuhle rallied community members, urging them to be part of the project and provided resources for the clean-up, which made the project an even bigger success,’ said Mpendulo Mbulawa of Vibe Online.
