Eskom cancels loadshedding from midday

Eskom said they will be using the opportunity over the long weekend to conduct short-term maintenance and further replenish emergency reserves for next week.

ESKOM has announced that load-shedding will be cancelled from midday today (Friday).

The struggling power utility said in a statement that the decision came after some generation units had returned to service, helping to restore generating capacity to meet customer demand.

‘Since yesterday morning, Eskom teams have successfully returned a generation unit each at the Duvha, Medupi, Kendal, Kriel amd Kusile power stations.

‘A further unit each is expected to return to service today at Camden and Majuba power stations.’
