Nkosi appeared in the Nongoma Magistrate’s Court last Friday, and is being remanded in custody until his bail application today (Monday).
KZN SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala said Nkosi was originally convicted for robbery, and had served seven years of his 15-year sentence before being released on 3 March.
‘It is alleged that the victim was at her home in Nongoma when Nkosi arrived, looking for her husband who is a taxi owner,’ said Gwala.
‘Nkosi was reportedly furious when he did not find her husband and turned the gun on Nhlebela, fatally wounding her.’
A murder case was opened at Nongoma police station, and the Provincial Taxi Task Team took over the investigation which led police to Ulundi, where the parolee was hiding.
He was arrested and charged with murder.
