Much-needed sidewalks for Empangeni

Cyclists and runners in Empangeni can be overjoyed at the fact that Paul Avenue is finally receiving the much-needed addition of a sidewalk

Cyclists and runners in Empangeni can be overjoyed at the fact that Paul Avenue – a route well-used by both parties – is finally receiving the much-needed addition of a sidewalk.

Paul Avenue is, however, not the only street in the area being spruced up, as many other roads in and around Richards Bay and Empangeni including the suburbs of Arboretum and Brackenham are set to get similar upgrades.

‘The sidewalks that are being implemented in the uMhlathuze municipality have come about at the request of the ward councillors who often deal directly with the public,’ said City of uMhlathuze Communications Manager, Mdu Ncalane.

This means most residents will consider these sidewalks a welcome addition when the project is completed come the end of April.
