Wendy Cook in record-breaking mood

Richards Bay swimmer Wendy Cook on Sunday smashed the South African 100m breaststroke record at the SA Masters Short Course Championships in Durban.

The talented swimmer, who taught herself to swim at a young age, also recently bettered other South African breaststroke records over various distances. Her peak in form has come at the right time.

Her goal is to improve her world ranking from the current fourth place and she will gun for gold at next year’s World Masters Championships in Japan.

As lockdown restrictions eased and galas resumed, Cook was provided with the necessary platform to test her speed and mental game to achieve her ultimate goal.
