DEDICATED volunteers remain committed to cleaning up and beautifying Ngwelezana through the Adopt-a-Spot campaign.
The team is working on the township’s main entrance and business centre as a way to discourage litter and improve the area’s attractiveness to visitors.

Since the beginning of the month, the team has been cleaning illegal dumping sites and storm water drains, picking up rubble and cutting overgrown verges.
‘This is a business area and, to attract customers, it needs to be welcoming,’ said project founder Mpendulo Mbulawa.
‘We will be here, cleaning up until the end of the month. We hope to get sponsors so we can buy paint and other equipment to beautify buildings.’
Since the campaign began in January, the team has cleaned up spaces in Empangeni, Richards Bay, eMandeni, Nseleni and eSikhaleni.
