NRB secure three vital points to stay on top

Richards Bay FC overturned a 2-1 deficit to beat Pretoria University 3-2 at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Sunday

SHOWING true fighting spirit in the second half, Richards Bay FC overturned a 2-1 deficit to beat Pretoria University 3-2 in a topsy-turvy match at the uMhlathuze Stadium this afternoon.

The game was marred by some dubious decisions by the officials, the first being a penalty awarded in the 10th minute to the visitors, who duly scored (0-1).

But their lead was short-lived as brilliant combination play saw Bayzel Goldstone stroke the ball home (1-1).

Tuks’s second came from a blatantly offside position just before the break (1-2) but this only served to anger coach Simo Dladla’s charges, who came out fired up for the second stanza.

With a much more physical effort it was first Thabani Dube then Goldstone once more on the scoreboard to earn the three points that keep them two points ahead of the chasing pack in the GladAfrica Championship race for automatic PSL promotion.
