WATCH: Two dead in Durban helicopter crash

EMERGENCY services are on scene at a helicopter crash in the Umgeni River near the N2 in Durban. Netcare 911 has confirmed that two people have been declared dead as a result of the accident.

‘When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found the helicopter covered by thick reeds, partially submerged in the water,’ said Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911 spokesperson.

 

‘Sadly, the pilot and passenger had sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased.’

The accident occurred just before 9am this (Monday) morning.
