Pap smear drive a success

Pap smear drive promotes women’s health awareness

LIFE Empangeni Private Hospital, in association with gynaecologist and obstetrician Dr Nonjabulo Dladla, hosted a pap smear drive on Saturday, 22 May, offering free pap smears to 40 women.

With early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, cervical cancer is a highly preventable and treatable form of cancer, and regular pap smears are key to its early detection. A pap smear is a painless and quick procedure, which is also lifesaving.

Due to the interest received from the community, Dr Dladla will carry out 40 additional pap smears on Saturday, 12 June.

Covid-19 safety protocols will be adhered to and patients are reminded to wear their masks.
