WATCH: ZO on top of the PixzAR charts

As many of our readers should know by now, the ZO has implemented a new way to interact with our paper.

As many of our readers should know by now, the ZO has implemented a new way to interact with our paper.

Known as PixzAR, it is a smartphone application which allows you to scan an image or wall of text, also known as a trigger.

This can then open a video, a gallery of images or an updated online story. In the first month of implementing PixzAR, the ZO had close to 7 000 scans.

To put it into perspective, the Caxton publishing group’s publication with the next highest number of scans in its first month was under 1 000.

We thank you, our readers, for scanning our PixzAR triggers, and encourage you to continue to do so as the platform adds a great amount of depth to our stories – all to the benefit of our readers.

If you’ve not yet started seeing your favourite community newspaper ‘come alive’ with PixzAR, watch the video for a quick tutorial on how to do so.
