WATCH: Fiery N2 protests over water shortages

With reports of rocks being thrown at vehicles and trucks being set on fire, motorists have been forced to exit the N2 at the eTeza off-ramp.

THE N2 in the vicinity of the Mfolozi off-ramp has been a ‘no go zone’ intermittently since Sunday night as community members have taken to blocking the national highway in protest over water shortages.

With reports of rocks being thrown at vehicles and trucks being set on fire, motorists have been forced to exit the N2 at the eTeza off-ramp.

Police have been monitoring the situation, but when they arrive on scene the protesters scatter and restart the barricading of the road once the police leave.
